Jumper T14 ELRS EdgeTX – 2.4GHz Radio Review

The Jumper T14 is a mid-size radio controller positioned as an affordable alternative to high-end models. It’s equipped with ExpressLRS at 2.4GHz and runs on the EdgeTX system, offering a customizable and versatile experience for various remote control needs.

Today we unpacked a CNC potentiometer gimbals version of RDC90.

Design

If you’re familiar with open-source radio systems, the Jumper T14’s design will likely remind you of the TBS Mambo at first glance. It features a rounded, ergonomic shape with a slight angle for a comfortable, natural grip that reduces hand fatigue during long use. The T14 has a matte-finish shell in a deep, nearly black blue, giving it a refined look without a cheap plastic feel. The molding precision is high, and each side is equipped with non-slip rubber grips. While it doesn’t have the Mambo’s slanted grooves, the T14’s grip styling is more similar to that of the Radiomaster Boxer.

Price

The T14 is a full-size model with two versions available: the Hall-effect gimbal version for $109.99. The package includes the transmitter, manual, original strap, data cable, and a carrying case.

Control Buttons and Switches

On the front of the T14, you’ll find four primary switches labeled SA, SB, SC, and SD. Switches A and B are two-position, while C and D are three-position. On the top shoulders, the SE and SF switches are positioned—SE being a locking switch and SF a spring-loaded switch, similar to the layout found on the TBS Mambo and RadioMaster Boxer. For added customization, Jumper offers optional DIY parts, allowing users to convert the SE and SF shoulder buttons to dial switches for more control flexibility.

The front panel also includes adjustable knobs, S1 and S2, which can be assigned to functions like volume control through the system menu. Compared to the Mambo, the T14 has a simplified design on the main panel. Trim buttons are consolidated into two five-way directional buttons, which save space and give the front panel a cleaner look.

The display screen is flanked by menu, page, return, and a multifunction scroll wheel. A short press of the menu button opens the model setup menu, while a long press brings up the system menu, mirroring the TBS Mambo’s user interface.

Top and Back Features

The T14’s top section includes a 10W USB charging and simulator combo port, a trainer port, and pre-drilled antenna mounting holes for DIY upgrades. There’s also a small DFU button for firmware updates; pressing this button while the device is off and connecting it to USB power puts it into DFU mode. The foldable antenna rotates 180 degrees for flexible positioning.

On the back, you’ll find the battery compartment, a standard JR module bay, and a mini cooling fan outlet. This fan helps manage the heat generated by the built-in 2.4GHz ELRS module, which operates at 1W power. The foldable plastic handle provides easy carrying.

Inside the battery compartment, Jumper includes a 21700 battery holder. While the radio can be powered with 21700 batteries, users can also remove the holder to fit a 2S battery for alternative power options.

Screen

One of the standout features of the T14 is its 2.42-inch OLED display, a pleasant surprise at this price point. Similar to the screen on the Tango 2, but slightly larger, this OLED provides a step up from traditional LCDs, delivering deeper blacks, brighter whites, and excellent contrast with no ghosting, making it clear and easy to read. Due to the OLED’s design, text appears closer to the screen surface, giving it a more cohesive, immersive look.

In the system menu under the ELRS script interface, you can see the T14’s built-in 1W ELRS module. It supports adjustable refresh rates up to F1000 and offers power settings from 25mW to 1000mW. Pilots can also set a threshold for the cooling fan to turn on as needed. The ELRS script interface allows you to enable Wi-Fi for firmware updates and Bluetooth for wireless simulator connections. The T14 ships with the latest ELRS firmware, version 3.3.1.

Pros:

  • Affordable price for its features
  • Good OLED screen and adjustable RF output
  • Customizable corner buttons
  • Runs on EdgeTX with ExpressLRS integration

Cons:

  • Gimbal parts include some plastic, reducing durability
  • Limited backpack function support
  • Slightly lower-quality plastic handle

Conclusion

The Jumper T14 is a mid-range professional RC transmitter with a built-in 1W power output, suitable for both casual and experienced pilots.  If you already own a similar-power radio, this may offer limited value as an upgrade. It’s ideal for those wanting a capable radio without investing in premium models.
